Food in Different Countries of the World by Zander

There are different types for every country and area. Each one is different. There are lots of different Country's that we are going to visit that have lots of different types of food, but the one that I am looking forward to the most it Turkish kebabs.

In Asia there are lots of different types of food, but the ones that we are going to try are Cambodian and Thai food. In these types of food they use alto of rice and noodles and salt. They have curry, soup, noodle dishes, and really good desserts. One of my favorite foods is nom pow. It is meat and veggies wrapped in white bread dough. It tastes really good hot or cold. My grandma makes it when she comes and visits. My grandma  also makes really good curry and rice dishes. I really like their soup. They have a soup that is spicy and sweet. You could put whatever  you want in it. It is called nom pa juk. I am looking forward to seeing my grandma who cooks really good Asian food.

The middle east has some of the most interesting country's. They certainly have some really good food. Turkish is my favorite. They make Kababs. They are wraps that are filled with lettuce, sauces, tabbouleh, and what ever you like. They are my favorite food. they are wrapped in nan bread. In New Zealand we eat allot of them. They are good because you can walk with them, and they are quick to make. They also have dishes that are rice or chips and they put lots of different stuff in them. One of the Turkish favorite thing is hummus. In the middle east there is allot of hummus. I really like Turkish and middle Eastern food.

European food is really good. There is lots of different types of food. There is Italian, Greek, Spanish, and other countries that blend together. My favorite European food is gelato. it is so good. Gelato is really good ice cream. I also like pizza. Now a days ,pizza is everywhere. I am pretty happy about that. In England, they eat allot of biscuits. I really like chocolate and England makes really good chocolate. The big manufacturer of English chocolate is Cadbury. When I get to Europe, I will eat alot of food.

The world has lots of  unique food to offer. My favorite is Turkish kebabs. But there are things all around the word that I haven't tasted. Maybe I might like something better then Turkish after the world tour. But I hope where ever we go, they still serve kebabs, pad thai, chocolate, soup, and pizza.

  1. Zander,
We have similar tastes in food. They have all your favorite types of food here in Singapore. We have eateries called "hawkers" where you can get really cheap food and eat in the open air. Each hawker has an A, B, or C on it, which tells you how clean it is. A is the cleanest. I try to avoid the C's. Unfortunately, it has taken me a long time to find really good thai food at a decent price. I prefer the thai food in the States or in Thailand. Italy has amazing gelato! I can recommend a few places to you. Maybe you guys should bring a word of mouth travel suggestions book with you when you come. I can write in a few things-especially about food.

  2. Hey Zander,
I love all types of food around the world also, especially anything from a ma and pa stand or on a stick. I like to follow the host national crowd to food. They usually know where to get the best (and probably cheapest) food around. Most tourist restaurants and food stands cater their food toward the foreigners so they are usually not that authentic.
Don't forget to try the Cambodian lobsters in Sihanoukville. They look more like 8-12 inch long red prehistoric bugs than the Maine lobsters, but they are tasty.
Just remember one important thing about traveling in Asia. You will get sick from the food at one point or another. Don't let that stop you from trying as many different types of food as you can. It's part of traveling. I've gotten sick in Prague, China, Taiwan, Japan, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam....
