Netball on Friday

My teacher is also the netball coach and she wasn't at school on friday.  She tore a neck musle and that made it so she couldn't move.  We had a really cool subsitut teacher instead.  The sub couldn't coach the netball game, so we didn't have a coach.

Before lunch,  a teacher from my school handed out the uniforms and I learned that I was only going to watch the game instead of playing it.  After we ate our lunches we warmed up by doing some drills and ran around.  Next we played a little scrimige and I didn't even know which team I was on.  The North New brighton teem was a couple minutes late so we ended up waiting for a while.  When they finally came, we did some more running and started the game.  I thought that the line up was really wierd because the line up was nothing like basketball or soccer.

For the first half, we were in the lead and at the end of the game North New Brighton won.  Shanay, my friend on the  team, said we lost because we needed a tall person in defense and I agreed with her.   After the game, Nekita, who is on my team, gave every one lollipops.

That was a really interesting day becauseI kind of wanted to play but I didn't know  the Netball rules.  But now that I've watched the game, I have a better idea.  Too bad the netball season is over!

  1. Hey Kayley,
Netball is pretty big here in Singapore too. I see people play it a lot here, but I've never watched long enough to figure out the rules. Sorry you didn't get to play though! I like your details in this blog. You're writing is getting very good! Your paragraphs are organized and each follow a main idea. I also like how you summarized your day in the last paragraph. It sounds like you are making good friends everywhere you go and having lots of fun! Is that a picture of Zander gaming in the library??? He looks like he's been "caught in the act." Like a deer in headlights! xx Thanks for the blog Kayley!

  2. KAYLEY--MAYBE THEY PLAY NETBALL IN SPAIN--so you'll be all set when you get to school there. Actually, I've never even heard of netball, so I'd be in much worse shape than you, if someone sent me on the court.

Mingdeap's right--your writing is getting very good. Keep up the good work! We really love the news. And I think you'd be surprised how many people are reading your posts. Lee just emailed me that Ellin was a "closet" follower of Roving... And several of my friends read pretty regularly. so even if there aren't a lot of posts, there are a lot ghosts out there reading away.
    Much love, bippy
