THE SIX FOOT TRACK BY KAYLEY OCT,20.2011

:):):)We also saw Echinas.:):):)
Hiking in Australia seemed really different from hiking in the USA.

There weren’t so many eucalyptus trees were we hiked in the USA. In Glacier all the trees were pine and oak. And in Big Sur there weren't many trees at all. When we  hiked on the Six Foot Track we hiked mostly  in a eucalyptus forest. In the beginning we hiked through a temperate rain forest, I don't remember what type of trees there were, though.

In Australia, the climate changed a lot between temperate rain forest and dry eucalyptus forest. Usually, in the US there is only one type of climate in a National park or National forest.  Some times there are mountains with pine forests and snow.

Seeing the kangaroos and wallabies were really
cool and fun, you can't see that hiking in the US. We only saw bears, deer and rabbits in the US.  Also there were some exotic birds that make really cool sounds. One type of Australian bird makes a sound like a chain on a hollow, steel pole.

The USA and Australia are more different than I thought.

We're delighted to hear how much fun you had on your backpack in Australia. You must have seen amazing things. I wonder why the animals are so different there? How do you suppose that happened?
