:)The Ski TripJ ;)

Me and my skis on the second day.
Kayley in her funny ski outfit!

My family and I went to a ski town called Uludag near Bursa, Turkey, and we went skiing. I loved skiing in Uludag Mountain’s packed and fresh powder like the rest of the family, except Zander who was cold. But other than that, we all loved our visit to Uludag.

Mia and Zander putting on their boards.
Mia and Zander learned how to snow board and they both fell a lot but they got better each time they went down.  I think Mia really liked snowboarding even though she would have like to ski more.  She tried it for 2 days and really liked it.  But now, she kinda regrets it because she is sore.  Zander still likes skiing better because he doesn’t fall and he’s faster on skis.

Kayley, daddy and I went on two really fun rides that Mia and Zander were too chickened out to go on.  It was good that they didn’t go because it was a tough slope and they were snowboarding for the first time.  The slope we went on was harder than the one that they were learning on. Kayley, Daddy and I enjoyed the ride and it would not heart when you fall because it is all soft powder on the top of the track. The sky slope reminded me of the Eagle run in Yosemite, because the run has a part were there’s three forks and near the bottom there is a kinda steep straight part.  It was a really fast ride down!
Mia and I on the favorite chair lift.

There is one run that we usually went on, and it had many different paths that forked off one main run.  Kayley and I only used 3 of the paths, but they all ended up at 2 paths right next to each other above the ski lift.  My favorite path is the one that the red and white arrows lead you to because it has lots of powder.  It is narrow and at the end it is really steep.  Kayley and I went down that path at least 5 times.

On the ski hill, there are lots of different ski lifts.  There are even rope tows and, of course, chair lifts.  Each lift has a ticket booth that you have to pay for each ride.  In the States, you can go to all the different lifts with one pass.  We only used the chair lifts, because it’s hard for the snow boarders to take the tow lifts.  I didn’t like how I had to wait for the punch card for each ride up.
I loved this ski experience, and I also think everyone else liked it too. But it was not the best ones I’ve had.  But it was not the best one for me.  I liked going to Yosemite better because I didn’t have to wait and pay for each ride up the lifts.

  1. Sarah--It's so fun to hear all about your ski experiences and all about Mia and Z learning to snow board. It reminded me of your Dad learning these things in Steamboat. And making the same transition from skiis to snowboard.

You guys were certainly having a good time, and you deserved some serious fun in the snow after all your hard work traveling.
    much love, Sweetheart. bippy
