Seeing the Sights in Kompat,Cambodia BY KAYLEY

This is Sarah and I tubing in a river near Kampat
A couple of days ago,Mingdeap,Ma, Zander and I went for a drive around the town of Kampot to see the sights. Everyone else was at the hotel, sick.  I thought Kampot was a really calm and nice town when we visited it.  It wasn't too busy and it wasn't too noisy.

While ma talked to the driver, Mingdeap,Zander and I sat in the shade and looked into the water of the bay.  The bay was nice and peaceful and the water was really murky and brown in most of the places. In a shallow spot we saw a big, old, concrete  pipe and a school of fishes swimming against the current and not getting anywhere. That was kind of cute.

That's me in my new bathing suit ,on a mountain, over looking Kampot.
Then we drove a couple of minutes away from  Kampot on the road next to the bay. After a little while, the asphalt road turns into a dirt road. The houses got poorer and poorer as we got farther away from Kampot. For example, the houses got more run down and every thing was more dusty than in the town.   Soon after we hit the dirt road, the driver turned back towards town and we drove along the murky bay again.

When we drove back toward Kampot on the road next to the bay, we saw the elephant mountain . The elephant mountain head and the trunk were facing to the right. On the left, there was just a bumpy ridge. Although there wasn't an elephant body, the mountain was still really cool.

Thats daddy siting next to the bay in Kampot.
Kampot may be my favorite town in Cambodia.  To add to the calmness, the veiw of the river and the mountains are truely awesome. It seems, that lots of other people enjoyed Kampot judging from the review Kampot got in the guide books.
