Yesterday we all had to pack again. And we all had to clean out our bags again. I threw away my black fleece pants because it had a hole at the knee and it was too small. Now I’ve got plenty of space for new things from Bali and Cambodia.
The good thing about throwing stuff away is that you have plenty of space for stuff from other places. We’ve been talking about dumping all our cloths in the trash when we get to Bali. Bali’s supposed to be super cheap so Mia and I want to get some new clothes, but not too much clothes.
Get ready to practice your bargaining skills in Bali! Remembering the conversion rate is very important since you are dealing with hundreds of thousands of ruppiah. If they ask for 50,000 ruppiah, try to come back with about 15,000. Also the 10,000 and100,000 bill are similar so be careful-especially when you're getting change from someone!
ReplyDeleteI did that in Cambodia when I went there a few years ago. I brought a backpack of old clothes and threw them away after a few days of continuous wear and buy new clothes for $2-5 each, which is almost as cheap as getting them cleaned. When you bargain, start with $1 and walk away at $1 lower than you are willing to pay for it. When you get 10 feet away, they chase after you to accept the deal. Bargain is a great sport sometimes.
