Water by Kayley

Rain:
Pouring down from the heavens,
Pounding on the roof,
Filling the gutters and overflowing the pools and fields,
Feeding the plants, animals, and oceans,
Cooling you off after tropical heat,
Sweeping away the dirt,
Greening and Cleaning the World.

The waves and ocean:
Brown sewage water,
pounding, crashing, and rolling,
A strong rip pulling you out to sea,
Towering waves about to break on your head,
Growing and retracting,
Bringing clutter from the ocean onto the beach.

Rivers:
Overflowing its banks when rain comes to visit,

Sweeping away the dirt with joy of having fresh water,

Water runs the world!

  1. KAYLEY--Super post. I loved it. And I wish we'd get a little of it here!! It hasn't rained since I got back and this is the rainy season. It's not going to be a good year here for the ground. [I should try to write a poem about the "dry".] love, love--bippy
